Lisa Lee (PhD, Lic. As a BAcC member, Lisa is an approved therapist for a number of private health insurance companies.
Originally trained in Five Element Acupuncture, with a background in research at the universities of Sussex and Edinburgh, Lisa regularly attends professional development workshops to deepen and broaden her knowledge of Chinese Medicine, including in the areas of pain treatment, male infertility and emotional diagnosis and treatment. She also has undertaken further training in cosmetic acupuncture with Paul Atkins, founder of Facial Enhancement Acupuncture and author of several books on the subject.
Lisa has a strong interest in using acupuncture to help those suffering with stress and anxiety disorders, and to manage the emotional and physical side effects of health conditions and medication. As such, Lisa has recently joined the team of volunteer complementary therapists working at the Macmillan Horizon Centre in Brighton, a partnership between Macmillan Cancer Support, the Sussex Cancer Fund and Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust to offer specialist support to cancer patients. She is also currently taking part in the pilot study set up by Anxiety UK and the British Acupuncture Council to provide research evidence to support the establishment of an acupuncture service for Anxiety UK members, and to help obtain a better understanding of the use of acupuncture for those living with anxiety.
Lisa’s approach to treatment places a strong emphasis on understanding the root cause of every client’s health and wellbeing issues and on establishing their goals. This understanding of individuals’ physical and emotional health is incorporated into every treatment she delivers, to ensure the very best results for every client. You can find out more about Lisa’s treatments and the conditions treated on her website www.lisaleeacu.com
Born in New Zealand and having spent her childhood there, as well as in France and Switzerland, Lisa grew up spending as much time as possible in the outdoors, and she still goes running, skiing and mountain-biking as often as she can.
