DESCRIPTION:Personal development groups for practitioners with Bárbara Godoy \n \nWe aim to expand our perception to metaphor\, as a way to connect directly with the experience of the other\, guided by folklore and fairytales. \nA journey that starts with Wonder-Ment; landscapes into Awesomeness; breaks through Awfulness by overcoming Tribulations; and resolves Ordeals to land on a Happy Ending. \nParticipants can expect to gain extensive knowledge about the relevant Literature in a way that becomes personally meaningful and relevant to their work with clients. Bárbara’s academic experience in London since 2008 includes lecturing and researching on the theory and practice of Phenomenological Existential Therapy on Doctorate\, MA and professional courses at the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology\, Regent’s University and the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling directed by Emmy van Deurzen. Bárbara has facilitated therapeutic Group Work internationally since 1997. Currently\, as the clinical director of THS\, Bárbara leads a team of over 30 professional practitioners in the area of Psychological services and Well-being consultancy. Bárbara is also the founder and director of THS. \n

SUMMARY:Advanced Supervision Group with Prof Ernesto Spinelli 2025
DESCRIPTION:These Master Workshops provide the opportunity to ‘look again’ at our practice and re-view assumptions and expectations regarding being a therapist. “Group supervision sessions seek to provide participants with a safe\, yet challenging\, space\, to consider and address the issues that arise for them when discussing their own\, or another participant’s\, experience of being a therapist. \nGroup supervision can be a valuable and enriching experience for all participants since even though the focus may be on a particular supervisee’s account\, it is likely that all participants will discover broader issues and concerns that resonate with their own encounters with clients.” \nProfessor Ernesto Spinelli was Chair of the Society for Existential Analysis between 1993 and 1999 and is a Life Member of the Society. His writings\, lectures and seminars focus on the application of existential phenomenology to the arenas of therapy\, supervision\, psychology\, and executive coaching. He is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS) as well as an APECS-accredited executive coach and coaching supervisor. In 2000\, he was the Recipient of the BPS Division of Counselling Psychology Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Profession. And in 2019\, Ernesto received the BPS Award for Distinguished Contribution to Practice. His most recent book\, Practising Existential Therapy: The Relational World 2nd edition (Sage\, 2015) has been widely praised as a major contribution to the advancement of existential theory and practice. Living up to the existential dictum that life is absurd\, Ernesto is also the author of an on-going series of Private Eye novels\, the most recent of which\, Everything Has A Price\, was published in 2023. \nAll dates:  Saturdays 25 January\, 22 February\, 22 March\, 12 April\, 3 May\, 21 June\, 19 July\, 25 October\, 15 November and 13 December 2025 \nFee: £1260 the whole year (£140 per session) \nTime: Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm (UK time) \nVenue: Online – Zoom \n\nBPS award for distinguished contribution “An internationally-recognised leader in existential therapy and coaching psychology\, Professor Ernesto Spinelli developed and taught the first psychology undergraduate and PhD programmes to focus on counselling and psychotherapy research. He has contributed to a growing interest in\, and professional appreciation of\, existential therapeutic techniques. Professor Spinelli publications and textbooks are standard reading for many psychotherapy and coaching training programmes around the world.
