Elizabeth O’Connor Bandeen holds an unconditional regard for her clients and aims to create an intimate and caring therapeutic relationship. She works intuitively and directly, helping her clients get to the heart of the matter with compassion and understanding.
Elizabeth trained as a psychodynamic psychotherapist at the Tavistock Centre.
Elizabeth also has extensive experience with depression, anxiety, personality disorders, bi-polar disorder, co-dependancy, addiction, psychosomatic illness, self-harm and suicidal thoughts. Her expertise spans childhood neglect; physical, emotional, and sexual abuse and assault; as well as other trauma.
Elizabeth has worked with individuals and groups as a psychotherapist in both the private and public sectors for over 10 years. She holds an honorary position with the Trauma Unit at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust where she treats patients with PTSD.
Elizabeth studied Mentalisation Based Treatment Therapy at the Anna Freud Centre. Using this technique, Elizabeth helps her clients to connect with their thoughts and feelings and link them to damaging behavioural patterns.
Elizabeth is a member of the British Psychoanalytic Council and abides by their codes of ethical standards and confidentiality. She is also a member of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists.
