EXISTENTIAL DIALOGUES

One-to-one dialogues between Prof Ernesto Spinelli and ten representatives of the existential approach from different parts of the world

“Existential therapy is a wide-ranging arena, with many perspectives and different views that also, fundamentally, share an attitude expressing a way of thinking and being with people. Representatives of the existential approach from different parts of the world have agreed to engage in an open-format discussion with me. Each of them will bring their own particular topic of interest as the focus of the discussion. From this, participants will hopefully see that existential therapy and existential thought in general cover a huge range of topics, viewpoints and perspectives and explores these in a way that is different, stimulating and enjoyable.” Prof Ernesto Spinelli

PROGRAMME (CLICK FOR FULL PROGRAMME):

22 January: “Therapy and the Daimonic” with Dr Manu Bazzano
19 February: “Diving into the co-created world of the psychotherapeutic encounter” with Dr Katerina Zymnis
19 March: “The Power of Phenomenological Openness” with Dr Todd Dubose
23 April: “Reconciling the past” with Dr Michael Montgomery
21 May: “Challenges on Existential Therapeutic Practice” with Dr Yaqui Martinez
18 June: “Brainstorming the basis of an Existential Laboratory” with Bárbara Godoy
23 July: “In the Spirit of Play: Toward a Psychology of Freedom” with Dr Betty Cannon
15 October: “Is Existence the same as Experience in Existential Therapy?” with Dr Greg Madison
19 November: “Zhimian: Existential Approach from a Chinese culture” with Dr Xuefu Wang
17 December “Radical Authenticity” with Dr Ken Bradford

EXPERIENTIAL STUDY GROUP with Bárbara Godoy

These Group Process Work sessions include the Existential Dialogues mentioned above as trigger for an existential laboratory for practitioners who would like to engage in a highly experiential journey to explore the meaning of the three phases of the “Therapy-World” as formulated in the text book “Practising Existential Therapy: The Relational World” (Prof E. Spinelli): 1) Co-creating the Therapy-world; 2) Co-habiting the Group Therapy-world and 3) Closing Down the Therapy-world.
