Remziye Kunelaki is a psychologist specialised in psychosexual and relationship therapy. She helps individuals and couples with sexual and relationship difficulties. She is highly experienced in facilitating clients achieve a place where they are happy with who they are and what they do sexually.
Remziye works towards a deeper connection between body and mind. Usually, the outcome is broader than just a healthy sex life. Her clients self-report positive changes in their lifestyle, in their relationship within and intimacy with others.
Remziye studied Psychology (BSc) in Turkey and moved to the UK in 1998 to specialise in Psychosexual Therapy. She trained at the Whittington Hospital (1998-2001) and qualified with a diploma (PgDip) in 2000 from Southbank University and a Master’s degree (MSc) in 2001 from Middlesex University in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy.
Remziye’s first job in the NHS was in 2001, as a Sexual Health Adviser at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital. In 2004, she worked as a Psychosexual Therapist at St George’s Hospital. In 2009, she returned to Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital as a Psychosexual Therapist. Since 2012, she has been the Lead Psychosexual Therapist at 56 Dean Street of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Remziye is currently managing a busy psychosexual department and supervises trainees on clinical placements.
Remziye is one of the very few Psycho-sexologists in the UK to be certified by the European Society of Sexual Medicine and the European Federation of Sexology (ESSM/EFS). She is an accredited Psychosexual Therapist and Clinical Supervisor by the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT). She has been a committee member of the British Society of Sexual Medicine (BSSM) since 2015. Remziye is also a member of the European accreditation panel (ESSM/EFS) since 2017. She is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Remziye is currently studying for a PhD in Medical science at Anglia Ruskin University.
Remziye’s model is brief and to the point. She pays attention to the relationship with her client/couple and what happens in the here and now. Her approach is integrative. She appreciates working with diversity. Her current research is in Spirituality and Sexuality.
Remziye is involved in various training sessions on psychosexual issues within and outside the NHS. She actively participates in European and national conferences. Remziye is in regular supervision and therapy. Remziye can offer therapy also in Turkish and Greek.
