Project Description

Jordan Sommers (MBACP), Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor

Qualifications:
I am a BACP-registered integrative psychotherapist and counsellor with ongoing specialised clinical training, grounded in current research and best practice.

What I Offer:
I offer a warm, supportive space where you can explore what matters most to you with curiosity and care. My integrative approach means I draw from a range of therapeutic methods to tailor our work to your unique story — how you are now, where you’ve been, and what you want to understand or change.

Together we can explore emotions, patterns, and experiences that may be shaping your present. This process often brings new perspectives, deeper self-understanding, stronger alignment with your values, and closer connection to yourself and others — foundations for meaningful, sustainable change.

How I Work:
Therapy is about connection and reflection. I aim to create a secure, nurturing environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.

My work is flexible and attentive to your needs. We may:

  • notice how you relate to yourself and others in the moment.
  • explore recurring patterns that feel stuck or confusing.
  • develop insight into inner experiences that show up as anxiety, low mood, or stress.

I draw on approaches including psychodynamic, humanistic, existential, Gestalt, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support both practical understanding and deeper self-compassion.

Who I Work With:
I work with adults (18+) offering both short-term and longer-term therapy, supporting individuals and organisations.

Additional Background:
Before training as a therapist, I spent over twenty-five years in the entertainment industry — a world shaped by visibility, pressure, uncertainty, and continual change. This experience gives me a strong understanding of how identity and self-worth can become entangled with performance, success, and external expectations, and how unsettling it can feel when familiar roles no longer fit. Having lived through multiple transitions myself, I bring particular sensitivity to working with clients navigating change, loss, burnout, or moments of reassessment, supporting them to reconnect with what feels authentic and sustainable beneath the pressure to “hold it together.”
