Project Description
Jenny Roberts, Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, MBACP accredited.
Jenny is an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor, with more than twelve years in private practice, providing both brief and longer-term, depth-oriented therapy. She specialises in reducing anxiety and depression, increasing self-confidence and self-esteem, and improving relationships. She also has a special interest in stress, trauma and life transitions. Her core training is in Gestalt therapy and she holds a diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the Metanoia Institute. She’s fully accredited by BACP and abides by their code of ethics. She also has a diploma in CBT/REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy) from the College of Cognitive Behavioural Studies, and a life science degree from King’s College London. Jenny integrates mindfulness, humanistic, somatic and relational approaches into her practice, and draws on the most suitable techniques and strategies for the person she’s working with and issues being tackling together.
“How we work will be completely tailored to your needs as no life situation is ever experienced in the same way by two different people.” Jenny
Her approach is collaborative and based on creating a safe, respectful space for you to explore what’s troubling you, work through unresolved issues and gain new perspectives to make the changes you feel are right for you. This could mean working through difficult life experiences, tackling unhelpful beliefs, or letting go of patterns that no longer work for you, helping you move forward toward to a place of growth and increased wellbeing and fulfilment.
Jenny now works exclusively in private practice. In the past she has also provided therapy in varied settings such as the Criminal Justice System, NHS, and Cabinet Office, and has managed a counselling agency providing brief therapy. Prior to becoming a therapist, she had a background in publishing and media. She has a deep commitment to her clients and their wellbeing. Clients often describe her as effective, empathic and genuine.
